The Computer Science team is searching for an Outreach Coordinator to assist in their high school outreach programs. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and exciting environment. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, planning, coordinating, and executing computer science outreach events with various high schools in Qatar.
Core responsibilities will include:
Overall management of Computer Science Outreach events and programs.
Designing, planning, coordinating, and executing computer science outreach events with various high schools in Qatar.
Delivery of CS workshops to high school students.
Reaching out to schools, recruiting students, managing logistics.
Following up with the post event procedures.
Generating reports and data analysis for events executed.
You should demonstrate:
Ability to work well with others and/or as part of a team;
Ability to pay close attention to detail and keep and maintain accurate and detailed reports and records;
Ability to teach basic computer science concepts to an audience with low technical background;
Ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult situations and/or individuals;
Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and with frequent interruptions;
Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;and
Excellent verbal written communication skills, problem-solving, reasoning and project management skills.
You should be able to travel to and work at various locations on campus.
This is a one-year, fixed-term, benefit eligible position.
Bachelor/Master in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other similar field.
Programming in multiple languages with experience using different platforms and operating systems.
Event planning and management experience are a plus
Teaching experience as an instructor or TA is also a plus.
