The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (OVCSA) provides leadership and support to the various units charged with engaging and supporting students. The Business Analyst for Student Affairs will evaluate business systems, assess and identify how they align with user needs, and perform tasks to achieve an understanding of business change needs including potential impact on the division. Capturing, analyzing, documenting and managing requirements for assigned projects, the Business Analyst will communicate with relevant parties and execute plans to achieve the optimal results.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze, measure, design, and execute plans for information technology solutions;
Prepares business cases working with divisional and departmental leadership and Wash U IT staff, ensuring business opportunities and objectives are clearly articulated, including feasibility analysis, as required;
In collaboration with Wash U IT Project Management and Enterprise Applications, develop plans for changes in services, systems, and delivery models related to IT needs of the Division;
Provide leadership to division through small to medium project coordination, monitoring of technical solutions, recommendations for and implementations of continuous improvement plans for business analysis;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or comparable discipline, or equivalent combination of experience, certification and education
Two years of relevant experience analyzing business processes and data
Familiar with IIBA Guide to the business Analysis Body of Knowledge
ITIL framework and IT product methodologies
Familiarity with testing techniques and software
Prior experience in higher education environments a plus

This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Position hours are generally Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m..

The hiring range for this position is traditionally $52,943 - $68,816, but is ultimately based on a candidate's experience and qualifications.
