Senior Program Manager manages highly complex interdependent strategic projects and programs across the growing and continuously changing central IT organization. Works closely with various IT leaders to plan, oversee, track and execute strategic initiatives at a programmatic level. Leads functional methodology and practice continuous improvement efforts. Skilled at achieving results by cultivating relationships and enacting participatory processes. The successful candidate must demonstrate consistently driven successful results across numerous complex and specialized initiatives while earning and maintaining the respect and trust of colleagues ranging from individual contributors to senior executives.
Duties include: 1.Program Management – Utilizes program, project and portfolio management practices and skills, works closely with IT managers, service owners, and staff to translate strategic priorities into outcome-driven actions with programmatic planning. Identifies opportunities to leverage resources with complimentary goals to work more efficiently and strategically. Oversees implementation of programs – both of projects specifically assigned as well as those managed by other Project Managers – to provide continuity in perspective, analysis, and assessment on strategic initiatives. 2.Project Management – Manages highly complex and/or enterprise-wide projects, providing strategic guidance and insight for projects that are mission or business critical. Develops and maintains productive working relationships with sponsors, managers, vendors and team members. Develops, and continually updates, detailed project/program management plans and schedules. Provides work direction and leadership to assigned programs, including scheduling, assignment of work and review of individual project efforts. Develops and maintains risk plans, processes and systems in order to mitigate such risk. Refines project/program cost estimates, confirms funding sources and oversees program budgets. Leads program/project steering committee meetings with sponsors and senior leaders. Oversees change management plans to effectively manage project impacts. 3.Functional Leadership – Provides thought leadership for project management principles, methodology, services, and tools. Leads development of processes and knowledge management for function. Leads customer interviews and other methods of measurement to report metrics and conducts change management for functional improvements. Leads troubleshooting efforts on project roadblocks in support of team members. Mentors less experienced team members. 4.Other Duties as Assigned
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent combination of education and work experience)
8+ years of experience leading projects and programs of increasing complexity and strategic responsibility
