The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Community Partnerships and Investments (CPI) Senior Specialist provides subject matter expertise for the metrics strategy, the processes, and the framework of the WWP philanthropy portfolio to ensure the most impactful investments and outcomes are reached in furtherance of the WWP mission. Together with CPI leadership and teammates, establish and maintain long-term partnerships with collaborative organizations, building-out impactful investments that align responsibly with community needs and with WWP’s strategic plan, investments strategy, and the mission to honor and empower warriors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as the key liaison to WWP’s Metrics team to collect and analyze partner and grantee data and assist in storytelling and reporting. Lead the CPI team’s technical efforts to gather, analyze, and interpret complex data.
Work closely with Metrics and Programs teammates to support organizational priorities related to impact and outcome measurement, i.e., key performance indicators (KPIs) for WWP’s philanthropy arm of grantees.
Collaborate with the Metrics team and other stakeholders to follow and incorporate best practices in data collection, storage, analysis, and governance.
Collaborate with WWP Metrics team and develop measures, analyze data, and assess and evaluate the impact of partnerships on the military service organization (MSO) space and on veteran and family empowerment.
Track proper investment administration, including outcome-based metrics, and prepare reports to leadership.
Assist leadership to ensure grantees are accountable to high return-on-investment standards in program outcomes and metrics and to promote a long-lasting partnership and impact investment strategy.
Lead the CPI efforts to proactively research organizations to partner with and obtain funding for and fill in gaps in WWP programming or complement WWP’s direct services. Support WWP’s leadership to create enduring partnerships across participating agencies that are transformative and build the field to positively impact warrior wellness.
Support the application of capital and corporate philanthropy strategies and tools by assisting the CPI team to source, structure, underwrite, and negotiate social investments.
Review, analyze, and evaluate proposals through social and mission due diligence. Assist grantees with proposal development and provide investment recommendations to senior leadership.
Track, analyze, and report on emerging and vanguard efforts, trends, and opportunities in the corporate philanthropy and corporate responsibility sectors. Apply lessons learned to help achieve maximum impact and presence as the premier charitable investment leader in the wounded warrior community.
Collaborate with WWP Legal team to design grant agreements. Collaborate with WWP Finance and Accounting team to assess the financial health of potential grantees and partners.
Maintain regular, high-touch communication with external partners on behalf of leadership. Oversee stewardship of individual relationships in public and private sector organizations to positively impact warrior wellness.
Develop community support for WWP. Present WWP vision and values to the community, effectively communicating WWP’s history, mission, and vision, and the benefits of WWP programs and services, and inspire them to become involved with and support WWP.
Establish working relationships with WWP teammates to advance CPI’s mission, strategy and goals.
Maintain broad, in-depth knowledge and understanding of military service organization (MSO) and veteran service organization (VSO) community needs, concerns, issues, trends, “best practices,” and innovations.

Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, business, public administration, information technology, data science, economics, finance, accounting, or other relevant field of study.
Five years of experience in grant-making, strategy consulting, impact investing, financing, program metrics, non-profit management, or philanthropic capital and grants.
Five years of experience using Excel for data analyses, cleaning and analyzing data, generating reports and dashboards, and using data visualization.
Master’s degree in nonprofit management, business, accounting, economics, finance, or data analytics.
Five years of military experience or working with veteran’s organizations.
Five years of experience working with a non-profit organization.
Three years of experience working with Salesforce, or similar customer relationship management (CRM) system, building and generating reports and dashboards.
