The web and digital media strategist leads and manages all digital projects focused on the relationship building between RIT and the prospective student marketplace. On a day-to-day basis, the position designs and builds content and experiences aimed at making relationship-building simple, experiential and informative. This includes managing the admissions and financial aid domain of the rit.edu site, implementing machine-learning tools to improve human connectivity, and leading the implementation of new digital tools including bots and apps.
The position directly reports to the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Marketing, with a dotted line responsibility to the institutional web services team. The web and digital media strategist is a collaborative partner with the entire enrollment management division for new initiatives, and supports university efforts in maintaining and continuously improving the RIT.edu digital presence. The position is integral to ensuring that the division's web and media is easy to navigate, delivers great services experiences while reducing costs, and makes the division as efficient and effective as possible. This position requires a combination of technical skills, web design skills, and customer service.
Responsibilities include: Lead the design, development, and implementation of the entire Enrollment Management web environment. Ensures digital information and content is up-to-date, reflects the practices and operation of the division, and supports the efforts of the entire division to inform, engage, and enroll students. The position is accountable for digital experiences that service undergraduate, graduate, international and financial aid populations via the rit.edu domain. This set of responsibilities is in partnership with university marketing and communications and has a dotted line responsibility to the institutional web services team. Works collaboratively with the Enrollment Management division to identify and project-manage implementations to improve communications, service and efficiency. This includes the implementation of machine-thinking service tools, the use of location services to optimize on-campus experiences, the adoption of enterprise global communication tools (i.e. WeChat, global conferencing, etc.) and other innovative ideas that improve the relationship building and services opportunities for the division. Digital signage content management. Responsible for the evolution and oversight of digital content to improve the visit and enrollment experience while in the admissions & career services building and on campus tours. Works collaboratively with divisional staff, University Web Services, and RIT community members to report performance metrics relative to university and enrollment goals.
Required Minimum Qualifications
3 to 5 years in web content design and development
Preferred: Masters degree in computer science, information technology or a closely related field.
Experience monitoring industry trends, technologies, and standards and ability to research, recommend, and apply new technologies as they emerge. Experience communicating technical issues with non-technical people using both verbal and written communications. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational and time management skills. Strong troubleshooting skills.
