Essential Functions of the Role:
The Senior Designer is a critical, hands-on contributor to the work of the College's central Office of Communications and Marketing, and the larger Institutional Advancement division, maintaining and reinforcing the brand identity while developing mission-driven and brand-aligned design concepts for a wide variety of communications materials across multiple channels and spanning the globe.
Reporting to the director of creative services, the senior designer is a team player collaborating with the Office's writers, editors, photographers, videographers, and digital specialists to communicate and market with a unified voice while educating and offering guidance to junior and student designers. In an extremely fast-paced environment, the senior designer designs and manages many projects simultaneously across a diversity of media, audiences, and environments meeting deadlines and working within budget.
Bachelor's degree of fine arts in graphic design or related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of five years experience in graphic design (print and digital) with experience in an academic institution.
Expert typography and design skills.
Exceptional ability in branding, editorial design, print campaigns, environmental design, student recruitment collateral, fundraising materials, ads, newsletters, posters, invitations and other materials.
Experience in art directing photography and illustration.
High-level of design thinking and the ability to translate communications and marketing strategy and messaging to compelling visual concepts.
Outstanding attention to detail with a persistent focus on quality.
High level of organizational skills; able to work with minimal supervision under tight deadlines and the flexibility to handle shifting priorities and multiple projects.
Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator).
