The Continuous Improvement Measurement Manager supports the advancement of Nemours’ goals and aspirations by providing guidance, support & direction on data.The role serves as a hands-on data analyst, architect and consultant as required, while overseeing all of the data efforts within the department. This role collaborates with Continuous Improvement Specialists & operational partners to understand the problem, collect and manipulate data, as needed, to provide baseline and targeted measures for CI activities. This role will engage a broad level (up, down and sideways) of stakeholder groups to help align and create synergies among various processes in the system.
Oversee & prioritize efforts to extract, manipulate and analyze electronic data from internal repositories in support of improvement activities, including working knowledge of Clarity.
Takes active role in partnering with CI Specialist to develop measurable targets & quantifying improvements.
Provide analysis, in appropriate visual format, to internal partners in the form of spreadsheets, graphs and/or flow diagrams.
Ability to create a story with data that is easily understood by operational partners.
Applies project management concepts of prioritizing, planning and executing data relevant tasks and initiatives.
Ability to determine correct application for correct problem, including the design/develop relevant dashboards with accurate and actionable data, etc.
Participates in Citizen Developer Community, as appropriate.
Applies basic CI concepts & principles to facilitate and support departmental, and/or cross-departmental analytics improvement activity (i.e., design and development of optimization models for strategic decision making, linear regression, and discrete event simulation modeling).
This includes preparation, planning & active support for data/workflow specific workshops.
Develops, maintains and revises data specific standard work.
As an educational resource and consultant, assists in providing training to Nemours’ associates, when needed, to develop proficiency in minor, systems related data tasks associated improvement “go-live” activities.
Uses intermediate – advanced knowledge of waste elimination tools, techniques and methodologies (i.e., Plan-Do-Check-Adjust and A3 Thinking) to identify clinical and non-clinical opportunities for improvement.
Develops a working knowledge of the organization, the challenges & work. Includes, developing and maintaining a working relationship with other data analysts across the organization.
Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical or college degree in industrial and/or systems engineering required or must be completed within 18 months of start date
3-5 years of related experience required.
Knowledge and experience in linear and integer programming, Relationship Database Management Systems (RDBMS), BI dashboard development and optimization modeling (all preferred)
Candidate has good grasp of continuous improvement concepts and approaches (i.e., lean, PDCA, A3 Thinking).
Candidate possess a “scientific thinking” mindset and is able to apply it to solve complex analytics problems.
Candidate has demonstrated experience in using various analytics’ tools and statistical analysis to solve problems and use as basis for strategic decisions.
Standard to advanced knowledge in the following: Epic, Qlikview, Qliksense, Excel (advanced), Visual Basic, SQL
