CIB - Transformation Group - Data Services Analyst/ Associate - London
Department Description The CIB Operations Transformation Group is a strategic, organization-wide team focused on enhancing controls, accelerating capabilities for the CIB, improving the client experience, and enabling ways to commercialize the firm's assets. It looks to leverage existing innovative activities to improve efficiency, scalability and operational leverage across CIB Operations by executing a co-ordinated, cross-LOB strategy through implementation pf programs that achieve large scale change. The group is organized under eight pillars: 1) Digital Tools 2) Client Experience 3) Content & Data Services 4) Core Post-Trade Processing 5) Firmwide Collateral 6) Resilience and Controls 7) Real Estate Strategy and 8) Cross Product Change Services Team Background The Data Services team sits within the Content & Data Services pillar of the CIB Operations Transformation Group and drives a portfolio of programs focused on centralizing and streamlining the process of sourcing data required across the CIB. The CIB Strategic Reference Data program, in partnership with the Firm-wide Data Management (FDM), is one such program that is a current focus for the team. The ~$300M, multi-year program is expected to deliver significant operating leverage through high quality reference data about our clients, products/instruments, and other core data sets which can be easily integrated into all front-to-back processes from client onboarding through to risk management. The Data Services team is accountable to work with cross-functional teams based in Corporate, CIB Operations, CIB Technology, and CIB Data Analytics to drive various sub-streams of the program to ensure success. Other high impact initiatives with significant firmwide impact that the team is working on include defining and driving the Wholesale KYC/ Onboarding Data Strategy (in close partnership with the Client Experience pillar within CIB Ops Transformation) and the CIB Taxonomy Optimization initiative (in close partnership with the Resilience and Control pillar) Key Roles and Responsibilities We are seeking an analyst/ associate to join this team based in London, to be an active member and valuable contributor across one or more of the initiatives the team is working on. The role provides a great opportunity to interact and partner with cross functional team across the firm, build out a well-rounded set of skills, and frequent exposure to Senior Management (Pinto DR-2), Key activities include:
Cross organizational transformation process re-engineering reviews
Simplification of operating models, and standardizing or consolidating key activities
Strategy development and formulation of business hypotheses
Leveraging emerging technologies to solve complex business problems
Migration and testing planning and co-ordination
Partnering with representatives from across the organization including Business, Finance, Operations and Technology groups, as well as potentially working with external partners
Required Skills and Qualifications
Logical, structured approach to planning, problem solving, and decision-making
Project management and reporting
Prior experience in strategy consulting, financial service, operations or technology environment is highly preferred. Knowledge of operational functions across the Banking, Markets, or Post-trade is a major plus.
Expertise in data analysis and manipulation
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is a must; familiarity with additional database and analytical tools (e.g., Alteryx, QlikView, Tableau, etc.) is a plus
Ability to work under pressure and to fixed deadlines
Self-starter with ability to manage own workload and deliverables
Strong influencing skills and able to partner with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to communicate clearly and confidently across multiple aspects of the organization and Senior Management/ stakeholders
