The Fair and Responsible Banking Compliance Advisor (FRBCA) will assist in the implementation and execution of CIBC Bank USA's Fair and Responsible Banking (F&RB) Program, including but not limited to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Fair Lending, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Servicemembers' Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Military Lending Act (MLA), Vendor Risk Management, Financial Exploitation of Elders, Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) , and administration of the US Customer Complaint Program. The FRBCA is responsible for assisting in the implementation and execution of these programs at the second line of defense, which include but are not limited to activities such as:
Assisting in the development and maintenance of effective policies, procedures, and tools related to F&RB and US Customer Complaint Programs, ensuring such are commensurate with the size and complexity of the organization and remain current and reflective of regulatory requirements and organizational processes.
Advising the lines of business and operational areas on F&RB Program issues, including regulatory and business changes; and assisting in the training, risk assessment and monitoring activities of fair lending, UDAAP, and CRA risks.
Assisting in the preparation of Board and management reporting on applicable program components and metrics.
Assisting in the coordination of audit and exam materials.
Serving as the US Region central point of contact for administering the second line of defense obligations in relation to the US Customer Complaint Program including, but not limited to:
Reviewing the intake of complaints received from the line of business and providing guidance, as needed, to ensure appropriate classification, data quality and accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and procedures;
Assigning complaints to the appropriate line of business contact for investigation and drafting of the customer response;
Reviewing and drafting escalated complaint responses received, in coordination with Legal, to ensure responses meet regulatory expectations;
Maintenance of the US Customer Complaint Standards and Compliance Department procedures to ensure alignment with current processes and regulatory expectations; and
Analyzing trends and reporting complaint metrics to stakeholders, including but not limited to, senior management, US Compliance Committee, and the US Board.
Working knowledge of all consumer protection laws and regulations, with proficiency regarding the F&RB requirements
5+ years' experience in regulatory compliance
CRCM preferred; JD considered a plus
Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
Familiarity with CRA and Fair Lending Wiz preferred
Regression analysis skills preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communications
Effective project management skills to lead and contribute to projects
Strong research, analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify compliance risks and issues for escalation to management, as necessary
Ability to manage workload and shift priorities to meet deadlines in a dynamic and rapidly-changing environment
