This role will assist the Issues Management Manager in the execution and maintenance of centralized issues management processes on a team that will be responsible for the oversight, reporting and validation of all 1LOD and 2LOD assigned issues. This role is responsible for providing effective oversight of the Bank's Issues Management Policy from vetting potential issues to issue entry into the Archer system to monitoring progress made toward issue resolution culminating in the validation of each issue upon completion to support closure per management assertion. This position is a key role within the Bank to ensure timely resolution of issues to mitigate all categories of risk. This role will be responsible for communicating issue trends to management throughout the Bank via report development and other communication channels. The role is critical to managing issues by ensuring business lines and second line of defense partners accomplish their resolution plans satisfactorily. Additionally, this role acts as a liaison between issue sources and the business lines/second lines of defense to ensure timely completion of issue resolution and demonstrate sustainability of controls to protect against repeat issues. The emphasis for role is successful execution of issues management processes to ensure closure of open issues within established time frames and without repeat incidence.
Provides thought leadership on issues management and validation through appropriate risk mitigation techniques.
Successfully executes on issues management processes in a high performing manner to provide oversight of 1LOD and 2LOD issues.
Communicates clearly and effectively with process stakeholders regarding department processes.
Apprises issue stakeholders of current issues and trends.
Assist with the implementation of the Bank's Issues Management Communication Protocol.
Actively participate in regular meetings with issue sources to ensure open communication and transparency on issue status.
Ensure Archer fields are appropriate and adequate to address reporting in accordance with risk taxonomy and root cause analysis.
Ensure appropriate committee reporting of all Bank issues trends and status.
Assists in the maintenance the Bank's Issues Management Policy and departmental procedures.
Bachelor's degree in Business-related field required; relevant graduate degree preferred.
2-5 years of financial services industry experience with a minimum of 2 years in a role focused on issue identification, tracking, resolution, and validation.
2 or more years of demonstrated ability achieving positive outcomes while interacting with a team of high performers.
Demonstrated experience collaborating with issue stakeholders to influence decisions and promote successful issue resolutions.
Familiarity with issues experienced by mid-sized banking institutions.
Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Strong dedication to ethics and integrity and demonstrated ability to produce high quality results and meet deadlines despite competing priorities.
Specific knowledge of risk management frameworks, audit risk assessments, corporate governance, process improvement, project management, bank operations, products and services, and/or regulatory environment and expectations preferred.
Preferred prior experience in Centralized Issues Tracking and RSA Archer.
