The ResearchAssistant supports research activities affiliated with the Nashville Men'sHealth Study (NMHS) and the Mid-South Men's Health Study (MSMHS) Biorepositoryprojects. Primary responsibilities include entering data from participantquestionnaires and managing Redcap database. The Research Assistant recruitsparticipants for the MSMHS study by obtaining informed consent and collectingdata at the clinic site. This position processes biological specimens,maintains supply inventory, occasionally administers follow-up questionnairesfor consented participants and performs other study related tasks as needed.
Enters and updates data into Redcap database from paper collection forms.
Addresses problems with data as needed to correct errors. Verifies information in Redcap for completeness and accuracy.
Maintains inventory of participant study records in Redcap. Digitizes files related to the studies.
Recruits participants by obtaining informed consent and collecting measurement data at a clinic in the Mid-South community.
Processes blood and urine samples obtained from recruitment in research center.
Aliquots samples into appropriate specimen containers. Ensures collected specimens are stored in appropriate areas.
Assists consented participants with study questionnaires via telephone, as needed
Obtains additional information needed for study- medication clarifications, completion of questionnaires. Abstracts data from medical records.
Maintains supply inventories.
Creates and maintains research record files for participants. Mails follow-up and completion letters to study participants.
Completes special projects as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
