Job Purpose Towson University is seeking qualified applicants to fill multiple Staff Psychologist positions at the Counseling Center. In a multidisciplinary setting, we provide psychological services to undergraduate and graduate students. Clinical responsibilities include the provision of initial assessments, crisis intervention, individual therapy, group therapy, group facilitation, workshops, training and supervision, consultation, liaise with campus partners and communities, and outreach and prevention. We are seeking candidates who are generalist clinicians and have brief psychotherapy expertise with adults and young adults in addition to specialty expertise relevant to university counseling center work.

Description Provide a range of psychological services to TU students on both a regular and urgent basis and when necessary during non-traditional hours. Adhere to agency standards regarding our scope of service, case management, and documentation. Participate in providing training and supervision in our APA-Approved Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology to our four doctoral interns, and four advanced masters level externs. Provide outreach programming in one or more of the following topics, or other mental health topics relevant to University Counseling Center work.
Sexual assault and domestic violence
Anxiety & depression
Life-skills & resilience
Grief and loss
Digital and online mental health resources
Creative new approaches to support student mental health
Option to provide leadership and management of a group of student peer educators and/or supervision of graduate assistants in an outreach area above.
Participate in the Student Affairs Division and the University mission in a variety of ways, such as collaborating with other departments on campus, attending university functions, and serving on task forces and committees as assigned.
Qualifications At least one semester of training or experience in a college or University Counseling Center or 4-5 months experience in brief treatment & outreach-providing settings, a Doctoral Degree or ABD in Psychology, currently licensed or will be license-eligible as a Psychologist in Maryland, and expertise in one or more of the specialty areas outlined above or another relevant specialty area. After-hours and weekend coverage occasionally may be required for campus emergencies, and for providing scheduled outreach programs and services.
