The University of Pittsburgh, Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences, is seeking a Project Coordinator for the Department of Biological Sciences STEM Pathways program. The STEM Pathways for Underrepresented Students to HigherEd (STEM PUSH) Network is a new project in the Broadening Equity in STEM Center, which is in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences.
This high-profile National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project, which will establish a national network of STEM precollege programs and a mechanism to strengthen and accredit these programs for college admissions consideration, is in search of a customer-service oriented professional to work as the project coordinator. The project coordinator serves in an administrative capacity for the Broadening Equity in STEM Center and provides administrative support to the project manager, the PI/Co-PIs and other members of the STEM PUSH Network team.
The project coordinator will be responsible for assisting with fiscal management and compliance with federal regulations and the contract from NSF, interacting with national partners, daily office operations (responding to and sending correspondence, notetaking, maintaining office calendars, scheduling meetings, processing orders), making reservations and travel arrangements, supporting the grant's social media presence, training and supervising temporary and/or student workers, and handling other miscellaneous tasks related to the role.
A qualified candidate is a master multi-tasker with excellent verbal and written communication skills and has excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in support of a diverse community.
