Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school located in Washington, DC, seeks an Assistant Director of Digital Communications, to join its Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the School’s digital communications channels, which currently include the website, email channels, social media, digital assets, and third-party sites connected to the School.
We are looking for an expert and strategic thinker who can bring technical savvy and leadership experience to the job and act as a trusted advisor, problem solver, and conceptual thinker. He/she will know what it takes to produce compelling and interesting content that effectively advances the educational mission of the School. He/she will manage the daily operation and long-term planning of the website, understanding the intricacies and relationships of digital assets, multiple sources of data workflow, and the School’s CMS. The AssistantDirector will work across all of the School’s divisions and departments and report to the Chief Communications Officer.
The successful candidate will have experience with information architecture, user experience design, digital asset management, analytics and reporting, best practices of data management, social media, and overall digital content strategies. Because we have high expectations, we expect the right person to be an independent and quick learner, facile enough to wear multiple hats and committed to serving the School with a high degree of excellence and integrity.
This position required at least 7-10 years managing a website using a CMS and user experiences for a similar organization. Must have both strong analytical and creative skills in order to develop digital strategies to effectively address digital strategies. Strong experience using the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, LightRoom, Bridge, and Photoshop are also required.
