Technical Project Manager, National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC)-2013084
The National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC) is recruiting a Technical Project Manager to work in the Artificial Intelligence Hub (AI Hub) with a multi-disciplinary project team to execute the scope for one or more sponsored research projects. The AI Hub was established to support the Army's AI Task Force as it looks to modernize its force. The AI Hub will, in partnership with the Army, help define and develop AI capabilities, robotics technology development and potential commercialization and technology transfer arm for the world-renowned Robotics Institute.

Technical Project Manager Responsibilities: You will serve as the Technical Project Manager (TPM) on selected projects. Excellent project management is essential to the successful transition of AI to Army platforms and systems. You will be expected to deliver successful projects while creating value for our sponsors, licensing NREC and CMU technologies, and generating follow-on business.
Your core responsibilities include:
Perform in a cross-functional structure, working with management to establish the priorities to ensure that business needs and customer expectations are being met efficiently and effectively.
Create and manage project management deliverables and work/resource plans that deliver on time with excellent quality.
Ensure development /execution of project plans that define activities, dependencies and deliverables.
Lead a project team throughout the Project Life Cycle including requirements analysis, design, prototype, build, test, deployment and transition.
Collaborate with team members in project effort analysis, issues management, risk management and quality assurance.
Manage project quality to ensure customer expectations are fulfilled through the delivery of project objectives.
Manage the project budget both internally and externally so that the project is executed within budget.
Perform change management for the project as to scope, schedule and budget.
Manage client expectations for timely review and approval of change orders.
Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineering teams to ensure that priorities and direction are aligned with the project goals.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, business managers and engineers to build consensus around architectural solutions, define high-level and detailed requirements, and deliver projects successfully.
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in science or engineering
8 years or more of project management experience required
Excellent problem-solving, reasoning, organization, planning, teamwork, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills required
