Position Summary: We have a newly created position for an APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT MANAGER. They will be part of the ITS UCPath Systems Group which provides research, design, development, and support services for the production UCPath environments for infrastructure and applications.
The incumbent will work closely with business partners, UC Path Center, Project Team and others and leads a team of technology professionals who deliver service and support to a system-wide audience.
We are looking for an experienced Application Development Manager with a broad set of skills including database and application development and integration. Having a wide breadth of experience, the manager applies business process and analysis with organizational objectives to resolve complex issues with multi-campus impact.
The ideal candidate will provide an overall vision and strategy for all the major technical components of the project and well as monitor, recommend and initiate changes in the PeopleSoft architecture to improve performance and efficiency.
The Application Development Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the University's system-wide PeopleSoft HCM deployment, 3rd Party Integratons. The incumbent leads and manages a diverse team of Technical Leads and Sr Peoplesoft Developers and is focused on overseeing daily support of the PeopleSoft applications.
The Application Manager also provides the overall vision and strategy for the technical components of UCPath.In addition to collaborating with core project team members, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical counterparts, the incumbent will manage the daily operational workload of the staff and mentor those less experience with PeopleSoft and the underlying technologies.
The successful candidate will define tasks and make assignments and ensure that delivery of tasks is being completed . The Application Development Manager will create and ensure with his team's adherence to UCOP TDS based process, workflows, and policies are met in all aspects while supporting the PeopleSoft System.

Supervises, lead, and develop staff which includes PeopleSoft Developers, Analysts and Systems Integrators/Coordinators. Develops staffing plans, hires and manages staff, and evaluates performance of staff as well as consultants and contractors.
Job Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required
Knowledge/Skills: Previous success in professional IT leadership roles, such as team lead, project management, supervisory, or managerial positions.
Leadership for the HCM team to include team building within the team and with customers. Ability to assist in prioritization of work efforts for all projects and operation work.
2-3 full implementation project life cycle experience as a Technical Lead or Manager with a thorough understanding of integration between applications.
Experience working with Cloud Service Providers on a cloud based platform.
Demonstrated skill in managing technical and senior staff.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical topics to individuals and groups with potentially varied levels of technical sophistication.

2-3 full implementation project life cycle experience as a PeopleSoft Technical Lead/Project Manager with a thorough understanding of integration between applications and PeopleSoft HCM 9.2
Proficiency in all technical aspects of HCM Integration tools like Integration Brokers , SOA , Batch, MFT . Proven work experience in Web Integration technologies like SOAP/REST
