The Department of Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina seeks dynamic new faculty members. Our highest priority is for tenure-track Assistant Professors in the general area of digital power electronics and energy systems, but distinguished candidates at any rank and in other areas of electrical engineering may be considered with commensurate qualifications, experience and record of excellence in teaching and research.
Applicants must have the potential to develop a strong and original research program, to support and extend our existing strengths in power electronics and energy systems, and to become nationally and internationally respected and well-funded. Research areas of particular interest include real-time computing for electronic power control, design tools and simulation methods for power electronic systems. Also, microgrids, electronic power interfaces for distributed energy resources, electronic power converters in the grid, dynamic interactions and stability in electronic power systems. Strong potential for collaborating with other high-profile research groups in the College and University, such as the AI Institute is desired.
Successful candidate(s) will be expected to contribute vigorously to the research and educational missions of the Department and College, including development and teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses and participation in service and outreach activities.
