The University of Minnesota School of Public Health (SPH) is searching for an integral member of the Student Recruitment & Enrollment Team to manage the customer relationship management (CRM) technology. The SPH is searching for a savvy, creative, customer-oriented individual to transform how people, process, and systems co-exist, while improving operational efficiencies and data driven decision-making standards. The Student Database Manager will be key to ensuring that prospective students receive a first class experience from inquiry to enrollment.
The Student Database Manager will provide excellent data services to the SPH, across units and programs, with the school’s CRM system: Spectrum Enrollment Management Platform (EMP). This position will be the primary owner of EMP, and will assist in building, developing and managing all aspects of EMP to maximize the potential of the CRM. This position reports to the Director of Recruitment and Enrollment, and will be in close collaboration with the Communications Team and UMN Health Services Technology (HST).
Database Management (40%)
Primary owner of EMP data and operations; play a lead role in the project to fully implement EMP, as well as testing data integrity as the system is introduced
Troubleshoot database issues and recommend solutions
Implement database monitoring procedures to maximize database performance
Collaborate with proper IT teams, including EMP and HST to support effective database implementation and functionality
Take a lead role with infrastructure and database configurations, changes, and upgrades
Assist in migration of data between SPH technology systems
Project Management (25%)
Serve as the primary EMP contact and lead on projects
Partner with department units, functional users, UMN IT professionals, and vendors to implement EMP as the primary recruiting database for the SPH
Interact with staff from functional units to understand needs and participate in and/or organize projects that are short/long term
Support others in daily use of data system, ensuring adherence to organizational standards; identify and facilitate necessary training and/or user support as necessary
Test and ensure that the database is implemented according to published standards
Translate business needs into database-related analysis, data mining projects, analytics and modeling
Guide decision-making at all levels of the organization through meaningful reports, analyses, and insightful recommendations
Develop and distribute recruitment communications, such as monthly email newsletters, event marketing, and email nurture campaigns
Confirm proper list segmentation
Ensure SPH brand standards are met
Develop deadlines to support timely execution of marketing campaigns under the direction of the Recruiting Director and Communications Director
Monitor, analyze and report on campaign results and provide recommendations based on database opportunities and campaign performance
Evaluate effectiveness of Inquiry Form (i.e. “landing page”) to ensure it functions properly as an integral component of the school’s lead generation efforts and a primary source of collecting quality prospective student data
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

BA/BS with at least two years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years
