ROLE SUMMARY The Senior Vice President has responsibility for the overall management and growth of the portfolio focused primarily on, but not limited to, NY NOW, NSS and American Handcrafted brands consisting of both live events and media products. This position is responsible for identifying signals both inside and outside the organization that could indicate threats to success or opportunities to grow and increase market share, defining projections based on current trends and future expectations, and setting strategic goals. Working with the EVP, the SVP ensures action and resource requirements are properly aligned to meet the business goals and inspires the team to achieve them. The SVP continuously monitors the business and market performance and adapts plans as needed.
Develops the businesses strategic and long-term goals based on analysis of business conditions
Tracks, monitors and evaluates strategic results to ensure growth and profitability; adjusting as needed
Identifies and develops strategic business relationships with current and potential customers, associations, etc
Develops and monitors budgets, forecasts and growth plans aligned with strategy
Aligns business goals, processes, resource allocation and value proposition with the strategy
Ensures we have the right skills and structure for organizational health
Keeps EVP abreast of changes in the industry, impact of events on the business climate and incorporates relevant trend data into all plans
Develops and executes brand expansion plans with a focus on digital opportunities, sponsorship opportunities, global expansion opportunities and M&A
Leads and manages departmental function
Experience in leading organizations through strategic change with positive results
Proven track record successfully managing teams and driving business improvements
Ability to track the effects of action plans and determine if actions are effective at meeting goals or if plans should be changed
Well versed in developing and interpreting analytical reports used to measure effectiveness of plans
Strong written, verbal, communication and presentation skills
Strong tolerance for turbulence and the ability to lead with resilience and push through setbacks
Strong prioritization skills - the ability to asses and reassess where to invest the time and energy of the business
Financial Expertise – in addition to budgeting and forecasting, must have the ability to connect initiatives to value creation
Ability to go deep to uncover any hidden challenges/problems and know how to assess a situation, distill facts and build an action plan
Ability to align organizational goals and resources and to continually learn
Ability to build a workforce culture that can execute change to meet business objectives, foster collaboration and strives for excellence while embracing change

10+ years of experience in business transformation or strategic planning
10+ years of experience in business-to-business tradeshows
