We are on the hunt for an experienced Construction Manager to lead our Project Management Department. The Senior Construction Manager (SCM) reports directly to the President and Vice-President of the Company with the primary role of managing Project Managers to ensure successful completion of our curtainwall façade projects.
What you’ll do:
Provide support and leadership to all members of the project management team, including: Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Project Assistance.
Collaborate with and act as a liaison between the internal and external project team members.
“Roll up the sleeves” and Project Manage from inception through delivery.
Coordinate with the project team to develop and manage the project plan, objectives, schedules, budgets, constraints, and deliverables
Maintain effective ongoing communication between internal/external project team members.
Involved in ensuring there is relevant project schedule documentation.
Oversee and review the contract scope and any proposed project changes with marketing and management to ensure change orders are properly evaluated.
Develop and request monthly progress project reports.
Meet with contractors, architects, and visit suppliers to ensure quality is being met
Make site visits to monitor the progress of the project and meet with field staff
What You Bring:
A minimum of 8 – 10 years experience in Canadian industrial, institutional, commercial construction project management, managing projects in the $5 million to $20 million range
Direct experience managing curtain wall system jobs
Trade or secondary education in construction related field is a plus
Ability to lead a department by establishing high performance standards in-line with the Company’s goals
A high level of organization, with the ability to prioritize and make decisions
Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills
Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office and MS Project Management. Experience with Sage Timberline, and AutoCad is a plus
