PhD in English Education at time of appointment; related field with a concentration in English Education may be considered.
Evidence of specialization in English Education.
Evidence of ability to teach English Education courses in adolescent literature, composition, and secondary methods for English Education; specialization areas may include but are not limited to children's literature, English grammar, digital literacies, reading instruction in secondary schools, inclusiveness/diversity in English classrooms, and/or principles of language.
Demonstrated evidence and clear potential to maintain an active research program of peer-reviewed publications that indicates a progression of scholarship.
Demonstrated ability of commitment to excellent teaching.
Minimum of three years of experience teaching secondary English.
Ability to supervise student teachers in the field and provide outreach to local and broader school communities.
Must hold or be eligible for NC High School Teaching in English Licensure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester for the Dept. of English, maintain an active research profile, and serve the English Education program, the Dept. of English, College of Arts and Sciences, and/or the university.
