This accredited program is associated with the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy Residency Program. Four 12 month pharmacy practice residency positions will be offered. Residents will be actively involved in patient care, education, and research. Residents are required to complete 12 rotations, a quality improvement project, and one major project. Residents will staff an average of 4 days per month.
This program will prepare pharmacist clinicians for any of the following:
Patient care clinical pharmacist and/or leadership role in a healthcare delivery system
An adjunct faculty position, or
PGY2 training in the area of choice
Pharmacists completing this residency program will be competent practitioners of pharmaceutical care. Residents will engage in patient care, project management and practice management and will develop substantial leadership and problem-solving skills. Residents will work as an integrated member of a multidisciplinary health care team. Upon completion of this residency, pharmacists will be able to apply their knowledge to all types of projects and patient care situations, and will be able to educate patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals on appropriate medication therapy. During this program it is expected that the resident will grow professionally, and will exhibit a personal philosophy of professional growth and commitment to the profession.
Applicants must be graduates of an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy. A doctor of pharmacy degree is required. Residents must be eligible for, and maintain licensure in the state of Texas throughout the residency.

Baptist Saint Anthony’s Hospital is a 400+ bed, teaching hospital located in Amarillo, Texas. We provide care to the residents of the Texas Panhandle and the tri-state area. BSA is acclaimed for its superior quality and customer service. As a pharmacy resident at BSA, you will have the opportunity to help develop and expand clinical pharmacy services. Our program is ASHP accredited. We offer a variety of exceptional clinical experiences including emergency medicine, anti-microbial stewardship, internal medicine, oncology, and neonatology. In addition, our residents are given teaching responsibilities with students from the Texas Tech School of Pharmacy.
