TheNational Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is seeking an Intern to support the Human Resources department primarily in the recruiting functions 2 to 3 days a week. This internship will give the student full life cycle recruiting experience while supporting a busy recruiting operation for an in demand top trade association in DC. NAM internships support academic objectives with real life work experience, while providing an opportunity to join a dynamic, spirited and fun team. NAM internships challenge students to enhance their business skills, critical thinking abilities, and communication skills.

Provide administrative and project support to assigned division
Conduct research, track data, plan events, and update files for assigned division
Specific recruiting activities include: scheduling first level phone screens while learning interview protocols, handling background check process, scheduling second level interview with hiring managers including assisting with travel arrangements for candidates as needed, scheduling conference rooms for interviews, preparing and reviewing interview packets, greeting candidates, assisting in handling new hire quarterly lunches with the President and CEO, assisting in handling the new hires/new hire guides quarterly Happy Hour program, conducting new hire and hiring manager feedback surveys, compiling data, analyzing and recommending changes to the hiring and onboarding processes.
Position also assists in the preparation of new hire announcements and posts with hiring manager/vice president, human resources approval to the NAM intranet
Position will also be afforded the opportunity to sit in on reference checks for learning purposes.
The human resources department has a strong team work ethic so exposure to other facets of human resources will occur naturally.
We are looking for Interns who meet the Following Criteria:
Outstanding academic record
Two references, preferably from academic advisor or faculty member of school attending
Excellent critical thinking and analysis skills
Organizational skills and project management skills
Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiency
Some prior experience in a professional setting a plus but not required
Some human resources coursework completed working towards a human resources related degree
Relational database skills required (Can query, create tables, procedures and understand Database concepts and structure)
