Pfizer Biopharmaceutical Industry Fellowship: Clinical Research Pharmacy
Pfizer Worldwide Research, Development and Medical, in conjunction with Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) University, offers a two-year post-PharmD Fellowship designed to enhance the understanding of the drug development process from molecule inception to commercialization. The fellowship will provide insight on the intricacies of the design, planning, and utilization of clinical supplies throughout all phases of development. Working primarily at the interface between investigational sites and Pfizer Global Clinical Supply, the Clinical Research Pharmacy fellow will assist with the development and implementation of training materials and various tools to optimize the use of investigational products at home and in the clinical site. In addition, the fellow will receive comprehensive training by completing rotational modules in various functional areas within Research & Development to provide support for clinical trial execution, while simultaneously fulfilling adjunct assistant professor academic responsibilities throughout the fellowship program. Upon completion, the fellow will have gained the knowledge and experience necessary to begin a successful career in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Develop project management, communication and leadership skills in a matrix environment
Assist with the development of tools to help clinical site pharmacies ensure patient safety, enhance clinical trial data integrity, and maintain regulatory compliance
Continue to develop therapeutic knowledge in hematology/oncology, cardiovascular/metabolic diseases, vaccines, neurology, inflammation/immunology, and rare diseases
Develop and implement strategies to enhance proper preparation and administration of investigational products (IP)
Attend investigator meetings to provide training to Principle Investigators (PI) on proper handling, preparation, and administration of IP
Develop, coordinate and deliver various Disease State Overviews/Clinical Patient Journeys to Pfizer colleagues
MCPHS Academic Component
MCPHS University provides an academic environment to guide and support fellows toward a successful career in the biopharmaceutical industry. As a private institution with a history of specialization in health sciences, MCPHS offers programs that embody scholarship, professional service and community outreach. Through MCPHS, the fellow will have the opportunity to gain teaching and scholarship experience in an academic setting. MCPHS faculty and company program leaders mentor fellows according to their scholarly and professional interests throughout the two-year program. As an adjunct assistant professor at MCPHS, the fellow will have the opportunity to:
Develop, coordinate, and teach pharmacotherapeutic courses
Co-precept pharmacy students on advanced experiential rotations
Create and publish scholarly research and/or review articles
Present research posters at scientific and clinical meetings
Participate in professional development seminars with other fellows and residents from MCPHS affiliated programs

After ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting
The three letters of recommendation must be submitted by the three provided contacts no later than December 16, 2019.
Top candidates will be invited for onsite interviews at the sponsoring company’s location. Final candidates will be required to go through additional screening / onboarding as required by MCPHS University.
