George Mason University's University Life – Technology Services invites applicants for the position of Applications Analyst. The individual will serve in the information technology capacity, support business objectives, and manage departmental systems and enterprise software. Specifically, the position will provide primary and secondary oversight for applications within Housing & Residence Life. The individual will be responsible for enterprise application support, including application upgrades and improvements, ensuring system up-time as well as serve as a technical resource in business processes to the application usage. The Applications Analyst will ensure documentation for systems, documenting and maintaining overall business flow as well was providing training to staff.

Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on all components of designated systems in Housing & Residence Life, including overall system functionality, reporting, interfaces, and other modules;
Ensure all systems are managed and maintained in an industry compliant manner;
Ensure project and tasks are completed in a timely fashion;
Develop and review documentation for processes and procedures;
Maintain responsibility for writing and editing documentation, including the creation of training materials, user manuals, presentations and other artifacts, as necessary;
Provide in-person and remote training to staff;
Coordinate with vendors on upgrades, support, and procurement quotes.
Develop relationships with partners by working with them to optimize and enhance operations;
Make recommendations based on business needs;
Evaluate software and trends to provide guidance on emerging technologies;
Liaison on behalf of the department to the Division and other University units.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or combination of education and experience;
Demonstrated years of professional experience in supporting customers and processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills including: - Experience in building user documentation and training processes - Experience in training diverse group of users
Proven experience in supporting a customer's experience with an enterprise system;
Proven experience providing strategic leadership and oversight for enterprise systems;
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, diverse environment;
Ability to multitask, problem-solve, be detail-oriented, and manage competing priorities;
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong project management skills;
Experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices;
Experience with assessing test scenarios, developing appropriate use cases/test plans, and preparing test data;
Ability to develop System Requirements for both new systems and enhancements/additional modules for existing systems.
Experience with API development to integrate disparate systems utilizing tools such as XML, JSON, etc.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Powershell.
Salary: Starting salary low to mid 60s. Commensurate with education and experience.
