The Senior Manager, Events is responsible for planning and executing all PCI events (annual convention, membership conferences, meetings, educational events, tradeshows and workshops, etc.) Responsibilities include managing the financial and operational aspects of event planning, managing site selection, hotel negotiations / contracts, all event logistics, registration management, and marketing efforts.
This is a highly visible position that interacts with PCI members and represents the organization to the hospitality industry. The position requires a highly self-motivated individual who possesses excellent leadership, project management, organizational, communication, and customer service skills. The position requires travel to events, meetings, site visits and training. Supervises one direct report and shared resources in relation to event responsibilities.
Key areas of responsibility
Manage the planning, production, management, promotion, execution and evaluation of all PCI’s events and components such as meetings, workshops, education programs, awards programs, tours, receptions, etc.
Manage RFPs for future event locations and vendor services
Serve as the primary liaison to venues, vendors and contractors
Manage event marketing and promotion strategies
Manage production of onsite printed materials
Manage event registration activities and oversee responsibilities of event registrar
Oversee development of event schedules and programming
Manage event website pages and mobile app content
Manage all onsite logistics and serve as main point of contact for venues, vendors and staff
Manage and oversee onsite staff (internal, temporary and vendor staff) to ensure smooth facilitation of events
Develop strategies to drive attendance and improve the experience for event attendees
Negotiate all institute’s contracts for hotels and other vendors, minimizing risk to the institute.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with various suppliers, hotels/venues, audio-visual companies, and convention bureaus
P&L responsibilities: budget development, cost management, projections and financial reconciliation.
Conduct post-conference surveys with attendees to measure results vs. goals. Compile results to develop strategic goals and deliverables for future events.
Serve as the primary liaison with partnering associations on co-locating events
Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality management, or equivalent events & membership experience.
Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
Demonstrated project management skills and fiscal responsibility for multiple events

Proactive and effective communicator across all levels and disciplines
Demonstrated competency in leadership and management
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
Understanding of or ability to learn about the precast concrete structures industry
Willingness to work extended hours during high periods to meet deadlines
Membership and participation in industry associations is desirable
Ability to travel as required
CMP and/or CMM required
