Summary: Functions as the administrator, oversees and manages all day to day functions, and is principally accountable for the performance of the Centralized Clinical Credentialing Program of Summa Health. Develops and implements policies and protocols related to physician, advanced practice provider, and other required verifications. Responsible for the development and maintenance of standardized data integrity rules, which includes a cross representation of system users and understands the impact of business decisions made by the users.
Formal Education Required: a. Bachelor’s degree required in Healthcare management or other healthcare related degree; Master’s degree preferred
Experience and Training Required:
a. Experience with verification procedures for educational background, previous work history, residency/training programs, licensure, DEA, and Board Certification required.
b. Thorough knowledge of accreditation standards and federal and local regulatory requirements applicable to area of responsibility required.
c. Expertise in hospital and managed care credentialing standards preferred.
d. Demonstrated organizational, project management and financial management skills
e. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Medical Staff Credentialing/Privileging in a hospital setting.
f. Demonstrated progressive responsibility in administrative positions preferred, ideally within a healthcare setting.
g. Candidates with experience in a CVO, MSO or large health care organization highly desired.
h. Certification as a Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) and MSOW-C software certification preferred.
i. Must be familiar with all administrative aspects of centralized credentialing operations and medical staff administration.

e. Excellent communications skills, including the use of correct grammatical standards and spelling in written and verbal communications.
f. Proficient with Microsoft Suite tools and use with candidate tracking data bases.
