The Faculty Support Specialist supports and trains an assigned group of faculty, monitors assigned faculty courses and student course evaluations for quality assurance and improvement. The specialist also maintains accurate faculty records and provides regular reports to the Director of Faculty Development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts orientation and training for new faculty regarding CCU policies and procedures, College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) teaching expectations, and best practices for adult higher education.
Monitors new faculty participation in the new faculty mentoring program.
Provides ongoing support and training to faculty regarding teaching experiences and University policies and procedures.
Tracks faculty compliance with required training.
Measures faculty performance through regular course audits and course evaluation reviews. Evaluates faculty performance data and provides trend analysis and critical insight to the Director of Faculty Development.
Collaborates with CAGS Academic Affairs staff and Curriculum Development staff on program learning goals, curriculum objectives, and best practices for course delivery, as assigned by Director.
Attends regular meetings, committee meetings, and training sessions as directed by the Director of Faculty Development.
Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Master’s degree preferred.
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, effective project management skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
High level of collaboration and teamwork skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Database management skills preferred.
Nature of Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
