The Alumni Association of the University of Michigan is seeking a Digital Alumni Communities Coordinator to join our fast paced Alumni Enagement team. The team is intregal to the success of AAUM's strategic transformation. Extend the ability of the Alumni Association to effectively help alumni connect with each other, the Association, and the University in meaningful ways. Utilize technology, staff and other Association resources to broaden the ways that alumni engage.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with peers on Alumni Engagement Community Team to manage projects and programs relating to strategic communications and engagement offered to the Association’s global alumni communities. Specifically provide direct support to Director of Global Alumni Communities.
Create and manage multiple online alumni communities to significantly increase global engagement opportunities for alumni.
Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to engage alumni through the use of online communities
Identify, create and foster online engagement between and among alumni based on shared interests, affinities, profession, degree and/or shared campus experiences.
Monitor and report participation and engagement among alumni through online communities
Identify, cultivate and train volunteer leaders and provide appropriate and consistent motivation and recognition.
Work closely with campus partners to ensure that each community is functioning in a manner designed to encourage increased engagement.
Track monthly metrics of important community KPI’s
Create and execute a comprehensive annual content calendar that engages alumni in AAUM initiatives/programming and other key campus partner initiatives/programming.
Provide training and support for volunteers in the use of use outreach services, including data management systems, e-mail and print communication, social media, Web resources, event support and leadership training tools.
Assist in the creation of strategy, budgeting, forecasting, policies, and procedures for global engagement, including online engagement.
Identify campus alumni relations staff to partner with around global engagement.
Coordinate annual report process and analysis around the development of online communities.
Assist in developing and implementing tactics to effectively track alumni participation in Association activities and events.
Collaborate with Alumni Association marketing staff, technology staff and volunteers to develop content for the Association’s and clubs’ web sites and social media channels.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide organizational leadership by demonstrating AAUM core values: All In, Serving Heart and Solution Seeker and helping other staff members demonstrate those values.
Work with AAUM staff members to gain a clear and consistent understanding for the details of the strategic transformation and feel equal ownership of every piece of it, including pieces for which there is not direct responsibility.
Value and embrace different identities and diversity of thought recognizing that everyone has unique and different experiences that contribute to the best solution seeking and success for AAUM.

Direct supervision is received from the Director of Global Alumni Communities.
A Bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant work experience in planning, creating, marketing, implementing, and facilitating programs.
Demonstrated experience using social media.
Ability to work with constituents from a wide range of national and cultural backgrounds.
Advanced knowledge and experience using Word, Excel and PowerPoint or similar software programs.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to apply good judgment and handle confidential materials with sensitivity and discretion.
Proven ability to manage several tasks concurrently, continually setting priorities on emerging requirements and changing timelines.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal).
Demonstrated commitment to high quality customer service and high levels of productivity.
Sales, marketing or alumni relations experience, or other professional experience in managing constituent productivity and meeting their expectations.
Experience with Google Analytics reporting and identifying and monitoring Key Performance Indicators
Experience working independently with customer relationship management (CRM) data system
Previous experience working with volunteers.
Knowledge of marketing and market-based management.
Knowledge of University resources.
This position requires some evening and weekend work.
