This position within the Building Services Business Office will provide coordination support for five departments within Building Services consisting of 300 staff members as well as provide support for customers, vendors, contractors, and consultants. This position will coordinate customer surveys; process service requests to create projects and work orders in FAMIS; coordination and management of the project closeout process; coordination of external notice send out; and will be responsible for coordination of departmental metric analysis and presentation.
This position will engage in High Performance, leading edge practices, which are Innovative in their approach to increase Stewardship and Service Excellence.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an associate’s degree in a business-related field or construction project management; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in project management, construction or maintenance operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, experience and knowledge of Infrastructure Planning and Facilities and/or facilities management structure, processes, and procedures, knowledge of MSU buildings and departments; experience with FAMIS and MERIDIAN, ability to multi-task and prioritize while remaining composed in a fast-paced work environment; proficient in project management; self-starter who possesses good decision making skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to support a culture of high performing customer service; experience in Microsoft Word, MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint software; experience with the use of Outlook e-mail and the Internet; excellent communication skills (verbal and written); established problem solving skills; excellent customer relations/service skills; ability to work as an effective member of a team; ability to handle confidential material with complete discretion.
