The Office of Information Technology at UT Arlington provides premier solutions and support to our Maverick Community. This position is responsible for managing and advancing the IT Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) program. Oversees the facilitation of collaborative IT governance committees and processes to enable the strategic direction for campus-technology. Oversees the process and staff involved in UTA’s information technology audit, risk, security portfolio, compliance, and policy/procedure activities to expedite requests and route promptly. Develops and maintains staff and processes to measure and report on effectiveness of the IT organization (performance management and dashboards). Enables cost and complexity containment, while encouraging shared ownership in IT.
Management Manage the staff, including motivating them, hiring and firing, writing reviews, preparing overall performance evaluations, training, development planning, and time management. Prepare cost analyses, budget plans and proposals as needed. Manage team spending. Stay abreast of trends in agile IT governance, audit risk, compliance, policies and procedures management and other external changes that could have an impact on Office of the CIO services. Perform end-user satisfaction surveys (transactional and periodic), and develop action plans to address areas needing improvement. Coordinate ongoing training on pertinent IT topics for IT Staff. Metrics & Reporting Develop, manage, measure and report on key performance indicators for the following: Governance, audit, risk, compliance, and policy activities of the department. OIT performance management and dashboards. Align the CISO's President's Report with the OIT Security Portfolio to manage, oversee, and track progress using basic reports and regularly status review meetings. Domain Specific Program Development & Improvement Develop and maintain continuous improvement of the IT governance, audit, risk, compliance, and performance management processes. Integrate the IT GRC with other IT operations management processes, such as service portfolio, resource management, and service portfolio. Leverage ITIL best practices and process frameworks to drive continual process improvement. Perform trend analyses, and develop action plans for improving service timeliness and reducing costs. Support the knowledge repository as mechanisms to improve end-user satisfaction and reduce costs. Relationship Management Build and maintain relationships with all IT units and the campus to ensure that IT-delivered services and end-user productivity goals are understood and exceeded. Manage various culture improvement initiatives within the department. Ensure proper reporting and awareness of high impact IT projects with all the Governance Committees. IT Process Management & Support Advance the use of a knowledge repository to share information among all levels of IT service and support. Be an active member of the demand, Enterprise Risk Management, Change, and service portfolio management teams responsible for ensuring successful IT investments and the advancement of the UTA strategy through IT Governance. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field business, information systems, liberal arts, etc. Three (3) years of demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams (operational management or project management) or the equivalent experience. At least six months experience working in four of the following subject areas: governance, audit, risk, compliance, policy, procedures, and performance management.
Master degree in a related field
