The Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS), at Iowa State University, is seeking qualified candidates for a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks at CIRAS including program outreach, marketing, reporting, human resources, and project management.
The Business Development Manager will be a key member of the CIRAS team and focused on growing our impact on Iowa industry. This includes representing CIRAS at various outreach events across the state, marketing and recruiting qualified businesses to CIRAS workshops and programs, developing ongoing outreach procedures, developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, regulatory reporting of programmatic metrics to Federal sponsors, leading development of educational content for the CIRAS website, and managing a variety of special projects. Â
The successful candidate will possess demonstrated experience in critical skills that include detail orientation; project management; excellent verbal and written communication skills; exceptional critical thinking, analytic and problem-solving skills; advanced knowledge and skill to use a computer system and various business software tools; ability to deal with ambiguity; and strong time management skills. All staff members are expected to interact collegially and maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
