Job Description Summary
Join a team that conceptualizes, designs and builds websites at Pennâ™s School of Arts & Sciences. The School is seeking to grow our web development team by hiring a Web Project Leader. The web team manages a wide inventory of School websites, primarily on Drupal but also on WordPress, developed mostly in-house, with some sites built and managed by third-party web development vendors.
Reporting to the Senior IT Project Leader for Web Development, the Web Project Leader will take on varied assignments related to web development and maintenance. These include assuming the role of subject matter expert for website accessibility; working collaboratively with our web team and content managers to assist with the building and maintenance of current sites; and acting as in-house project manager for Drupal websites contracted to third-party web-development firms.
This is an excellent position for an IT generalist looking for a next step in their career. The ideal candidate will have some experience in web building and/or content management, HTML, CSS, Drupal, Wordpress,or project management. We are looking for someone who is interested both in the technical side of web development and in project management and vendor relationships.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in IT support, including some web building, web content management, or IT project management. Ability to learn new technical skills quickly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact successfully with faculty and staff at all levels is required.
Preferred: Working knowledge of web accessibility standards and Drupal CMS. Direct experience in project management.
