Residency Special Features: Extensive and teaching opportunities in a hospital-based residency program. Required block rotations: orientation, cardiology, critical care, infectious diseases, internal medicine, and transitions of care. Longitudinal rotations: anticoagulation clinic, pain management, practice management, project management, and service commitment. Electives may include emergency medicine, geriatrics, hospice/palliative care, rural care, and surgery. Residents will precept pharmacy students and obtain a teaching certificate.

Allen Pharmacy Department is a 24 hour pharmacy that provides extensive antibiotic, warfarin, insulin and renal function dosing services, as well as participating in multidisciplinary ICU rounds, Cardiac Rehab patient education, antibiotic stewardship and provision of drug information to providers, staff, and patients. Allen has three outpatient Anticoagulation Clinics, two retail pharmacies, an ambulatory surgery center pharmacy, and provides pharmacy services to several affiliate hospitals.
