This position is for the Director of P&C and Financial Services Sourcing. We are looking for someone with Financial Services Industry knowledge & experience.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to lead supplier rationalization, category management, and sourcing and negotiation strategy creation for both the:
• P&C categories of Underwriting and Financial data, Estimating, Glass, Towing, Salvage and other Member related categories. • Financial services categories of Brokerage Services, Investment Management Data and Technology Services, and Analytics.
Additionally, knowledge of financial services regulation and reporting requirements preferred.
Candidates should have a wide variety of experience negotiating with suppliers and multiple types of contracts. Demonstrated ability to complete compelling written communications to executive level recipients with ability to influence strategy and outcomes. Experience with leading teams through change while successfully engaging associates and delivering expectations. Knowledge of SAP Ariba is a plus.

Direct team of Strategic Sourcing advisors/partners to deliver strategic sourcing projects that realize maximum long-term value to business units and functions for one or more of the designated categories of spend (IT, All Labor, Marketing, HR, Corp Real Estate, P&C or Financial Services). Provide leadership for the development, planning and execution of disciplined sourcing strategies to aid business units or functions achieve business objectives and manage expenses. Ensure critical relationships are developed and maintained with the business and suppliers to deliver optimal sourcing strategies and solutions.
Reporting Relationships: Reports To: Sr. Director, Procurement. Minimum of 3 direct reports at various levels. Interacts with key suppliers, Relationship Management-Procurement and with the highest levels of management and executive leadership across Nationwide during critical negotiations.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee all activities to maintain collaborative partnerships with business units to ensure alignment with business unit and sourcing strategy objectives. Provides leadership to enable the team to understand business unit budget for coming year to leverage opportunities. Ensure alignment and partnership across Supply Management Services functions.
Oversee the development, planning and execution of sourcing strategies. Monitor and evaluate category performance against sourcing strategy and objectives.
Define and direct the execution of optimal sourcing solution by leveraging business unit requirements, funding, suppliers and industry knowledge.
Consult with stakeholders to create best contractual outcome including optimal negotiations, strong legal and business terms, and meaningful KPIs and SLA's. Execute contracts against governance guidelines (approvals). Review and approve contracts.
Partners with Supplier Relationship Management team to ensure alignment with the development of supplier relationships to drive effectiveness and value against planned strategies to facilitate supplier reviews and generate continuous improvement ideas. Ensure resolution of contractual discrepancies as they occur.
Monitor category metrics to ensure categories are performing. Oversee actions to address issues and mitigate risks. Ensures the team manages supplier compliance to contractual terms.
Provides strategic oversight on the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and objectives for the sourcing of goods and services for all business units and functions.
Provides direction and guidance in the creation of the annual sourcing plans.
Ensures all activities associated with the execution of the established sourcing process including but not limited to the preparation and delivery for each project summary/business case in accordance to the purchasing approval policy to all levels of the organization.
Directs associate management including: performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, associate engagement, talent and succession planning, workflow and organizational planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions.

Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, procurement or related field preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Procurement, purchasing or project management designations, as applicable.
Experience: Typically eight to ten years’ experience in all aspects of supply chain management including management and supplier relationships; or equivalent professional experience in other closely related industries, including managerial experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven knowledge of administrative and procurement policies. Proven knowledge in supply management strategy. Must have a thorough understanding of procurement policies, programs, practices and procedures. Must have knowledge or familiarity of current information technologies. Proven knowledge in project management concepts and techniques. Thorough understanding of financial controls, insurance business concepts, systems and data processing concepts, and financial planning/analysis. Strong analytical skills to evaluate and recommend complex supply management strategies and expense reduction methods. Must have strong negotiation skills as well as administrative, personnel, and financial management skills. Must have the ability to develop and maintain strong supplier relationships. Ability to interpret complex contracts and evaluate outsourcing strategy. Must have the ability to manage and train employees in all aspects of financial planning and analysis as well as supply management processes. Verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interact with all levels of personnel as well as outside parties.
