The Administrative Clerk will be responsible for the day to day operations of a high volume practice within the Nuclear Laboratory of the Division of Cardiology.
S/he will be responsible for scheduling appointments in IDX for nuclear and cardiac pet procedures.
The Administrative Clerk will serve as a liaison to the clinical staff.
S/he will be responsible for managing the daily patient flow, answering phone calls, greeting patients and visitors, and performing pre-registration intake for new patients by obtaining the required data set.
S/he will be responsible for preparing appropriate paperwork and/or charts for all incoming patients as well as explaining procedures to patients.
S/he will confirm appointments, obtain referrals, verify insurance coverage and file charts.
All charts and information will be filed into the electronic health record system by the selected candidate.
The individual will process and track all clinical services provided by the department through statistical database entry.
S/he will provide basic routine data report entry into the digital medical system and gather all required data and relevant clinical information.
The selected candidate will maintain laboratory records and log books, maintain routine/preventive and emergency repair contacts.
S/he will be responsible for ensuring timely retrieval and accuracy of dates and services provided.
If selected, the candidate will be asked to verify patient information in Epic, IDX, Crown, Webcis, Misys/Imagecast, and Eagle.
The selected candidate will be expected to conform to all applicable HIPAA, Billing Compliance, and safety guidelines.
S/he will ensure patient centered care by demonstrating behaviors that reflect a Culture of Service.

Two years of college or completion of secretarial school or equivalent business experience plus a minimum of one to three years related experience in a clinical practice setting.
The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.
Knowledge of IDX billing and scheduling systems preferred
Participation in the medical surveillance program.
Must successfully complete systems training requirements.
