FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Communications and Performing Arts, at Kingsborough Community College seeks a creative and collaborative faculty member for an adjunct teaching position to teach introductory undergraduate courses in Speech Communications. Our introductory Speech Communication courses (e.g., Effective Public Speaking/Listening and Speaking Skills) are taken by students of all majors and are also included in learning communities designed for native and non-native speakers of English. The desired candidate would be dedicated to excellence in undergraduate education and committed to providing students with the relevant experiential learning and interdisciplinary experiences. Responsibilities include advising students on their academic progress, engaging in professional development, assisting with course/program assessment, participating in campus activities/committees, and/or working with colleagues on shared learning goals and assignments.

Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
The selected candidate must have teaching expertise in teaching college level Public Speaking and/or Communication Studies in a diverse urban environment. Experience teaching/mentoring ESL students is considered an asset.
Candidates seeking Adjunct Lecturer position must hold a Master's Degree, while candidates seeking Adjunct Assistant Professor/Associate or Professor positions must hold a terminal degree in Communications Studies or a related field in addition to demonstrating the ability to teach successfully at the college level.
For Adjunct Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor:
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.
For Adjunct Lecturer:
Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.
Adjunct Lecturer: $71.59 - $89.12/hr.
Adjunct Assistant Professor: $81.20 - $96.38/hr.
Adjunct Associate Professor: $87.54 - $107.28/hr,
Adjunct Professor: $97.11 - $118.19/hr.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
