Job Description Summary: This position serves within the Office of Admission and supports the admissions functions by assisting in the following areas: responsible for oversight of overall admissions supply& inventory management, social media management and part-time events coordination. Supports the admission counselors as they travel to ensure all communication within their territory continues as calls and questions come in. Will also serve as an on campus admission counselor when necessary due to admission counselors being on the road. This position is in direct communication with staff, faculty, and counselors to support setup and execution of the events. Other duties may include utilizing the current CRM to create or update student records as needed, as well as other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Two years of college coursework and/or equivalent experience. Knowledge of University admissions guidelines, standards, and procedures, and higher education admissions counseling in general. Knowledge of the various financial aid programs, including application deadlines and regulations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with the University community. Excellent customer service skills, multi-tasking; attention to detail; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; organization skills.
Preferred Qualifications 2 or more years of relevant experience
Essential Duties Works with Director of Admissions to plan and implement a consistent social media calendar for Facebook, Snap Chat and Instagram. Provide leadership to the call center work study students: this leadership consists of evaluation and monitoring of employee performance. Works with Director of Admissions to plan and design the monthly newsletter that will go out to high school and transfer counselors. Demonstrate an awareness of confidential and/or sensitive nature of issues concerning students. Coordinating and communicating effectively with all Student Services areas to best meet students needs. Respond with a team approach to a broad variety of needs including serving as frontline staff in other Student Services Offices while assisting with events. Collaborate as liaison to counselors, and directors. Assist in the development and presentation of special activities to promote admissions to external and internal groups. Be available to serve as de facto Admissions Counselor to students when other staff are unavailable, providing the student visitor with the highest level of knowledge and customer service. Manage the supply and inventory management of all office supply orders and marketing materials. Assist with student recruitment events such as fall open house, spring information night, student orientation, and Webster Preview Days. Stays abreast of University programs, policies, and procedures.
