Job Description Summary
The School of Arts and Sciences seeks an Infosec Project Leader to join our team. As the School continues to explore new ways to meet our teaching and research mission, third-party and cloud services are playing an increasingly important role in developing new services. We are looking for a technically-minded professional who can help faculty, staff, and IT staff evaluate and manage both technical and other risks involved in these services. Â The Infosec Project Leader will work directly with faculty and departments to work through data use agreements, and with vendors to assess their information security and privacy controls.
The Infosec Project Leader will act as team lead for managing the SAS implementation of Penn-wide security initiatives such as PennKey two-step authentication and SPIA (Security and Privacy Impact Assessment). As a member of the SAS Infosec team, they will contribute to incident response and to planning and implementing information security improvements in our SAS technology infrastructure. They manage the SAS Mission Continuity program, including an annual tabletop exercise.
The Infosec Project Leader plays a central role in most of the information security initiatives that support SAS faculty, staff, and graduate students across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for a desktop support person with an interest in information security and project management to move into a position with school-wide impact.
Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience in tech support, systems administration, or other IT-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated record of excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working on a team.
Strong organizational skills as evidenced by managing multiple work streams or managing a large project over several months to completion.
Demonstrated experience in at least one area of information security
Experience in project management in IT
Familiarity with data risk assessment, security controls, and digital privacy issues.
