The Director of Undergraduate Admissions provides strategic leadership and vision for undergraduate recruitment and admissions. This position is responsible for directing the undergraduate recruitment program to achieve short and long term enrollment goals. The Director will oversee the training, development, and day-to-day production within the department including daily performance goals, quality assurance, and customer service levels. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing.
Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Assesses and implements individual goals for recruiting admission staff within assigned territories.
Works alongside the University marketing department to develop and implement a marketing campaign including, but not limited to: social media, digital marketing, print, email.
Communicates with prospective students, families and influencers, community partners, and others to assist in the college search process and lead to enrollment at Ashland University.
Assists in the development of and oversees the execution of the department's communication plan for various audiences including prospective students, admitted students, and families.
Conducts research to evaluate programs, policies, and procedures in an effort to maintain an understanding of the student recruitment market.
Coordinates the department's administrative functions such as hiring, training, evaluating, assigning tasks, meetings, etc.
Provides leadership of admissions professionals and creates a student-centric culture that aligns with the institutional mission.
Develops strategic, data-driven new student recruitment strategies and goals in collaboration with the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing
Presents and analyzes data regarding new student admissions to assess status towards goals, areas of concern, relevant trends, and use of that data to direct recruitment initiatives mid-cycle for future planning.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and University regulations concerning student admissions.
Provides effective budget management and oversees fiscal operations by establishing cost controls and spending plans for the undergraduate admissions department.
Collaborates with the Executive Leadership Team to organize and implement highly efficient, team based enrollment model that emphasizes an increase in academic profile, net tuition revenue, and geographic diversity.
Master's degree in relevant field required.
Five (5) years of admissions and/or marketing experience in higher education.
Proven record of strong management skills and the ability to achieve goals.
Strong team leader, who encourages interaction and communication, fosters creativity and shared decision-making, and maximizes the value, commitment, and productivity of each team member.
Exceptional communication skills and demonstrated an understanding of admissions.
