The University of Maryland is seeking a pediatric radiologist at the Assistant or Associate level for a faculty position at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. Applicants must be ABR certified, meet the requirements for Maryland licensure and should have fellowship training or equivalent experience in pediatric imaging. The University of Maryland Medical Center is one of the nation's oldest academic medical centers and serves as a major referral center for the most critically ill and injured patients in the mid-Atlantic region with its world-renowned Shock Trauma Center. The Department of Diagnostic Radiology & Nuclear Medicine has 61 clinical faculty, 14 research faculty, 40 residents, and 12 fellows/clinical instructors. The department has state-of-the-art equipment including multiple dual source CT scanners, 1.5 and 3T MRI scanners, digital fluoroscopy, a hybrid Angio-CT suite, an upcoming hybrid PET/MRI system, and US equipment with contrast and elastography capability. All studies are interpreted on an enterprise-wide PACS system.
The University of Maryland Children's Hospital has the largest NICU in the state of Maryland, with a combined total of just over 100 pediatric beds. A close collaborative relationship with a growing Department of Pediatrics provides an opportunity for clinical and academic growth. Radiology services are also provided at Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital, a subacute care facility for children, and several community hospitals remotely.
Duties include oversight and interpretation of all modalities (plain film, fluoroscopy, US, CT & MRI) with the exception of neuroradiology, interventional radiology and nuclear medicine. An academic commitment and dedication to teaching residents and medical students is required.
Faculty rank is commensurate with candidate's qualifications and experience. Expected rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, rank and tenure status is dependent on candidate's qualifications.
