The laboratory of Dr. Inma Cobos at Stanford University is recruiting enthusiastic and motivated postdoctoral researchers to study neurodegenerative disorders. Current work in our lab focuses on using single-cell technology to understand selective cell vulnerability in human brains with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of tau-mediated neurodegeneration. Learn more about our research at www.med.stanford.edu/coboslab.
Several positions are currently available to join our new lab at Stanford. We seek applicants with diverse backgrounds to: 1) Generate and analyze single-cell -omics data from human brains with neurodegenerative diseases, 2) Perform spatial transcriptomics in human brains with neurodegenerative diseases, 3) Study cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration using human stem cells, and 4) Develop new methods to study neurodegeneration at single-cell resolution. Candidates with expertise in any of the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply:
- Computational biology - Single-cell transcriptomics - Cell biology and molecular biology - iPSC technology - Histology, neuroanatomy and image data analysis
These positions are funded by the NIH-NIA and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI). The CZI Neurodegeneration Challenge Network provides an ideal opportunity for outstanding trainees to advance their careers by joining a highly collaborative team of scientists, physicians and computational biologists working across disciplines to accelerate progress in neurodegeneration.
- PhD or equivalent degree in neuroscience, molecular or cellular biology, computational biology, or a closely related field - Creativity, self-motivation, strong analytical skills, and record of high productivity - Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills - Keen interest in neuroscience and neurodegeneration
To apply, please send by email your CV, a brief statement of your skills and research interests, the questions you would be interested in pursuing in our lab, and the names and contact information of 3 references to email@example.com.
