The New England Centenarian Study (NECS) is the largest study of people aged 100 and older and their families in the world. We are a dynamic group of physician and neuroscience researchers, statisticians and post graduate research assistants with varied interests regarding exceptional longevity. The study is based at Boston University. The New England Centenarian Study believes that cultural and social diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the distinction and excellence of our research and academic programs. To that, we are especially eager to have join our ranks a colleague who supports our institutional commitment to ensuring BU is inclusive, equitable, diverse, and a place where all constituents can thrive.
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and the Research Project Manager, the Research Study Assistant will be responsible for collection and management of study participant data. Data include cognitive and physical function measures. Additionally, annual follow-up data will be collected via mailed and telephone-administered questionnaires. The RA will receive standardized training in conducting these measures that include administration of portable carotid ultrasound.
