C2SMART Center is a USDOT Tier 1 University Transportation Center taking on some of today’s most pressing urban mobility challenges. Its research activities are focused on three key areas: Urban Mobility and Connected Citizens; Urban Analytics for Smart Cities; and Resilient, Secure and Smart Transportation Infrastructure. Led by the New York University Tandon School of Engineering, C2SMART is a consortium of five leading research universities, including Rutgers University, University of Washington, the University of Texas at El Paso, and The City College of New York.
This position will be responsible for the management of projects and coordination of research activity across various grants at the C2SMART Center. As the center continues to grow with new grants and PIs, this position is needed to assist center staff in overseeing both Center-funded projects as well as other Center grants. The candidate will assist Center directors in ensuring deliverables are completed by deadlines per sponsor needs, project requirements are adequately tracked and met, and center activity across its Principal Investigators, other research staff and students, as well as sponsors and other partner organizations, are appropriately coordinated and supported. The candidate will also be relied upon to develop documents and presentations on center research, communicating with sponsors and partners, arranging events and seminars, providing and maintaining content on the center’s website, as well as in the writing and development of new proposals. In addition, the candidate may be relied upon to manage center messaging through email newsletters and/or the website, coordinate logistics for events held at the center, and provide support for the administrative and logistical needs of the center. The candidate will also function as a liaison between the center and other NYU departments and teams to best take advantage of available resources.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 3+ years Project management, research coordination, or related field.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on numerous projects and initiatives simultaneously, with the ability to work independently with general direction from leadership.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: High level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar, with very strong written and verbal communication ability. Self-starter that is comfortable proactively communicating and collaborating with all levels of staff, including external partners and sponsors, in a professional manner. Experience managing or coordinating logistics of events such as conferences, seminars, and meetings.
