Elon University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Art, beginning mid-August, 2020. This position requires someone who brings a broadly integrated and interdisciplinary perspective to the field of Intermedia art, who holds an MFA with teaching experience, as well as a sustained research practice within the field. Evidence of curriculum/program development preferred. Responsibilities will include teaching 6 courses per year. Teaching will include studio, and courses in the Elon Core Curriculum. Candidates will also be asked to assist in managing digital studios. Ultimately the person in this position will challenge tradition and embrace new forms of aesthetic thinking, while developing courses which emphasize artistic excellence, active learning, and socially engaged practices.
