St. Louis College of Pharmacy is currently looking for an experienced accountant to manage or assist with several key functions within the business office including financial and grant reporting, student payroll, ledger entries, 1099 processing and other duties. This person is part of small, dedicated team; the right individual will cross train with other accounting areas.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
Reviews and processes financial documents (journal entries, transaction corrections)
Prepares daily, monthly, quarterly and annual journal entries
Reconciles and analyzes various funds/accounts in the general ledger system
Investigates and corrects transactions on a daily basis to ensure transactions post properly to the accounting system
Prepares monthly bank reconciliations
Assists in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports
Assists in research for technical accounting issues as requested
Supports student loan processing and reporting with third-party loan administrator
Assists with Form 1099 reporting
Performs grant-related post-award functions, including periodic invoicing and financial reporting
Assists with time and effort reporting and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
Assists with budget creation and monitoring related to grant activities
Assists Payroll Manager with various payroll functions including:
Uses the payroll system to calculate and produce payroll
Verifies payroll accuracy
Runs and distributes standard payroll reports
Consults with Human Resources team regarding payroll questions and concerns
Cross functional training to assist with various accounting functions as needed
Other duties as assigned
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Bachelor degree in Accounting
Two to five years of accounting experience environment
Familiarity with non-profit accounting preferred
Familiarity with grant accounting/ post-award functions preferred
Proficiency using accounting software and reporting tools
Project management skills
CPA not required, but preferred
Strong communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to professionally interact with students, parents, faculty, staff and administrators
Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive matters, including, but not limited to, student accounts and payroll.
