RIT Center for Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution designs and delivers a fair and educationally-based behavioral conduct process as well as policy education and training to the RIT community. We accomplish this by emphasizing accountability, emotional growth, conflict resolution, restorative values and campus safety.
Detailed Job Description
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Center for Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, the Conduct Coordinator supports the mission of the department, the division of student affairs, and RIT. The Conduct Coordinator is responsible for assisting in administering the student conduct process, with an emphasis between the Centers for Student Conduct and Residence Life, in a manner that ensures student development, consistent and fair application of University policy, and respectful treatment of all participants.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator, able to learn a student conduct process centered on educational outcomes, as well as the issues, trends, and concerns for students and institutions of higher education. The Conduct Coordinator must be an independent worker and a self-starter. The successful candidate will be a committed and experienced professional with a collaborative disposition, ability to think critically and creatively, excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills, and a service orientation.
Required Minimum Qualifications
A masters degree in higher education or a related field is required.
A minimum of one year of full-time professional experience, or the equivalent, participating in a student conduct process.
Effective verbal, written, and digital communication skills, including the ability to facilitate open discussions and ability write clear and concise reports.
Possess a deep understanding of a diverse student body and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and cross-cultural issues.
Recognized as an effective advocate who exhibits high ethical standards of conduct and confidentiality in dealing with various internal and external constituencies.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines.
Competent in American Sign Language or willing to develop such competence.
