We are a Heavy Civil Construction contractor with main operations in Saratoga County, NY area, and are seeking a dynamic individual that can assist Lead Estimators in developing bids and then follow the project into Operations to work with Project Managers to launch and manage the project to completion. Depending on skill set and project size, we may also choose to have the individual actively support both departments. This is a great role for those looking for a career path for a standalone Project Manager, Lead Estimator, or a combined Bid/Build role.

Individuals should be experienced in heavy construction and DOT, specifically in pipeline, site, wastewater treatment facility, structural concrete, development infrastructure, highway, and utility work. The successful candidates must be self-motivated and work well in an organization that is professional, analytical, and results oriented. Candidate must be able to present a professional image to industry peers, department staff and the project owners.

Working as an Assistant Estimator and/or Assistant Project Manager for 3 years in the heavy construction industry with progressive experience to a Junior Project Manager preferred.
Fully versed in review of specs/plans, take-offs, determining scope of work, and communicating the same.
Ability to learn preparation of cost estimates, documentation, and submittals.
Ability to monitor projects from successful bids to identify changes in scope and identify estimate deficiencies.
Capability to prepare proposals when necessary, including information to document the basis of proposal.
Skill to coordinate with the Schultz operations team on successful bids to provide a thorough transition to the project team.
Requires familiarity with computers and most general software, preferably scheduling and estimating software.
Able to communicate to all parties in a professional manor both verbally and written.
B.S. Civil, other related degrees or equivalent work experience.
Must ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry practices.
Must be US Citizen or authorized to work in the United States.
