| The successful candidate will develop high-accuracy electronic structure methods for strong correlation suitable for areas of study such as chemical bonding, catalysis design, and quantum materials. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop methods suitable for strong correlation individually/as part of small teams within the Shepherd group as needed
- Collect and analyze stochastic and deterministic electronic structure data
- Prepare papers by describing, in writing, trends in data and their implications for the field
- Assist in training graduate and undergraduate students
- Maintain/use group software located on the group cluster
Those hired will work with the Shepherd Group located in the Chemistry Department at the University of Iowa. The Shepherd Group is also part of the broader on-campus Iowa Informatics Initiative, a cross-cutting initiative to foster new collaborations across the physical sciences, health care, and digital arts and humanities. We are aligned with the Informatics Initiative in aiming to train the next generation of data scientists able to transform information into knowledge and actions.

Start date is negotiable, but preference will be given to candidates who can start during the 2018-2019 academic year.
