The School of Engineering and Technology at the University of Washington Tacoma is seeking applications for a lecturer position for its Computer Engineering and Systems program. This is a full-time, non tenure-track, 9-month renewable position with an initial appointment term of up to three years, beginning September 2020. Reappointments are up to five years. The lecturer position in the University of Washington system may be entitled to promotion to senior lecturer and principal lecturer based on outstanding accomplishments in teaching.
The lecturer will be expected to teach computer engineering courses in line with ABET practices.

The University of Washington Tacoma, one of three UW campuses, is an urban undergraduate and graduate level campus that is changing the face of its region economically, culturally, and architecturally. The School of Engineering and Technology, formerly Institute of Technology, was created in 2001 through a public/private partnership to address the critical industry demand for baccalaureate and masters level computing and engineering professionals. The School's 800+ students are currently enrolled in four undergraduate degree programs: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Systems, Computer Science and Systems, and Information Technology, in addition to a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Systems, and a professional master's degree in Cybersecurity and Leadership, in partnership with UW Tacoma's Milgard School of Business. Our MS in Computer Science and Systems is also expanding by adding interdisciplinary, data centric tracks that leverage the research strengths of other academic units on campus, particularly in Data Science, GIS, Bioinformatics, Cybersecurity and Cyber-Physical Systems. An MS program in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Ph.D. in Computing are also in development.

Digital System Design
The position requires on-site face-to-face availability for teaching classes. Teaching assignment may include days or evenings. Quality performance will be expected in teaching and service. General responsibilities include: preparing and delivering a course that meets the course description and learning goals; using appropriate teaching strategies and evaluation methods; informing students of all course requirements and providing feedback on a continuing basis; holding regularly office hours; using appropriate technology for the course; and submitting course grades by deadline.
A M.S. degree or higher (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field is required. Qualified applicants in all areas of computer engineering will be considered.
